The Coaticook region is hosting an innovative pilot project intended to offer a break for caregivers: ANAAIS (Let's help our seniors and caregivers with the social internet). This program, led by Véronique Provencher, a professor at the University of Sherbrooke, is based on an application that connects caregivers with relays ready to take over for a few hours.
Functionality and flexibility :
The application allows caregivers to define time slots when they need help, triggering alerts to available relayers. This concept offers flexible respite and meets occasional needs, such as taking care of an elderly parent one evening or a weekend. This service differs from the traditional Home Assistance offer by its simplicity and adaptability.
Credibility and security :
Home help from the MRC de Coaticook, project partner, ensures the credibility of this initiative thanks to its 25 years of experience. The torchbearers, carefully selected after a safety investigation, receive 35 hours of training to ensure quality service.
Opportunities for torchbearers :
The program, already well received by students from the Coaticook Vocational Training Center — CRIFA, offers ideal remuneration and flexibility. The time slots are adapted to the constraints of the participants, with no minimum hours imposed.
Launch and registrations :
The ANAAIS project should be operational by the end of the year. Caregivers and interested relays can contact the organization at 819 849-7716 or by email to contact@anaais.ca to register and get more information.
This initiative promises to transform support for caregivers by combining technology, flexibility, and security.
